PROCEDURES

Gastroscopy:

  • Also called Endoscopy or esophago-gastro-duodenoscopy.
  • It is used to examine the food pipe, stomach and upper small bowel.
  • Endoscopy is most useful for detecting and treatment of ulcers and upper GI cancers

Colonoscopy:

  • A view of the entire large intestine up to the entrance of the small bowel.
  • Colonoscopy is the most accurate test for colon and rectal cancer, and it has been shown to detect the disease early and save lives.
  • The cleaner the colon, the better your provider’s chances of detecting all of your polyps and cancer, which can sometimes be small or hidden.

Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatogram- ERCP.

  • This is a procedure to relieve bile obstruction in patient with jaundice from gallstones and bile duct cancers
  • Further interventions can be done during ERCP including biliary stent placement.
  • If you have obstructive jaundice ERCP is the next procedure indicated.

Other:

  • Abdominal ultrasound.
  • Small bowel capsule. endoscopy.
  • Hemorrhoids banding.
  • Manometry and pH studies.
  • Endoscopic ultrasound.
